Class Descriptions

Vinyasana I:  A beginner level class. These classes teach you the basics you will need to begin a safe and fun yoga practice. We start with gentle poses to bring awareness to our breath and movement, building into correctly executed standing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists and flow series. Emphasis is placed on alignment and awareness. All levels are welcome! 

Vinyasana II:  Using Fundamental Movement Patterns, traditional yoga postures, breathing and meditation, this class encourages a practice that is supported and initiated from a deep, interpersonal awareness of self. With informed movements created from the inside out, this class is based on self inquiry, curiosity and the exploration of all possibilities.

Vinyasana III:  A challenging and dynamic asana based practice! Come to get your heart rate up, to sweat and lubricate your joints. Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated! Using standing poses, inversions, strength and toning movements this class helps to increase mobility and strength with a gentle undertone of quiet mind focus.

Mixed Level Yoga & Meditation:  Creatively build strength & increase mobility with a curious, mindful & playful approach.  Explore physical & mental patterns to balance the demands of our lives.  A moderate to strong intensity class with modifications offered to support all bodies.  As a noon class, students are welcome to come late or leave early as needed to accommodate schedules.  Meditation begins at 60 minutes allowing for a natural transition for those leaving early.

Core Yoga:  A yoga class focused on strengthening and connecting with core muscles and centers.  This class is designed to target your whole core, not just your "abs", through asana yoga poses and focused core strengthening exercises.  This class is perfect for new mommies, those who want to tone, and those who have lost their connections to their centers.   

Restorative Yoga:  A calm, soothing class that is relaxing and centering. Gentle poses held for an extended time encourage healing and release. This class will increase breath flow, joint mobility, elasticity and freedom. Relieves headaches, arthritis, back pain, joint discomfort, aches and pains, stress, and fatigue. Supports health, healing and the restoration of our innate joy!

Gentle Yoga:  An integrated, holistic approach to taking care of our over all well being. Using adaptive therapeutic yoga techniques we integrate our breath, correct alignment, strengthening movements and awareness of anatomy. Learn to undo dysfunctional movement patterns and to re-create healthy, strong, integrated movement. Slow down, learn the basics, breathe and enjoy a slower paced, healing class. 

Yin Yoga:  Yin Yoga is a relaxing style of yoga where poses are actively held for longer periods with some movement.  Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissue, fascia, ligaments, and tendons to relieve tightness and tension.
